I can't believe how beautiful this turned out! I haven't done the circle yet because I'm not sure I like it. It almost seems too big for the quilt. Maybe putting a smaller brown circle inside the larger one would scale it down some. After the circles are done I just need to take out the paper and quilt it.
I LOVE my embroidery machine. At least so far..LOL. I finally figured out how to download free designs the right way to the USB stick. The Yahoo! group on the Janome Embroidery machines is so wonderful. Usually most groups ignore the newbies as they ask the same questions over and over. I downloaded a 30 day trial of Embird. I sort of have it working. Sort of. I don't know whether to get the software for the Janome machines or Embird. Every one has their own opinions.
Here's what I've done so far:
This is my first attempt at editing on the 350e. Umm..well...I got all 4 hearts on the fabric. LOL. I had to do 2 hoopings so I didn't do too bad. It took an hour and a half to do this.
This one came with an embroidery quilting book. It's really small..under 4 inches:
I LOVE this design. I downloaded it for free but the entire collection is gorgeous! All the designs would make a stunning quilt so it's on my "going to get" list when I get better at this. The pictures were on black fabric so I thought I'd try it too. I used a pale blue color for the flowers but they look white.
I'm still working out some tensions issues. The weird thing is that you lower the tension to get what you want. The colors on top should be pulled over to the back of the design. I go back and forth between 1 and 2. I still didn't get the tension quite right as there are white spots in the green. Since I've done lots of satin stitching with my 6600 the idea of the thread goes to the back makes perfect sense.
I also spent the day working on my blue star quilt. I need to get it done for the county fair as it's at the end of the month.

Your paper piecing is also great don't you just love PP taking the paper out is a pain but its worth the trouble when you see those perfectly matched seams

Your embroidery is beautiful and there's no stopping you now. I've often thought of an embroidery machine but I'm not sure I'd use it enough to make it worth while. Keep up the great work.
BEAUTIFUL Bethany! I've updated our blog with your top quilt!
