The Weekend

I finally got my Janome 350e back from the dealer after two weeks. I started working on a project and with 10 minutes to finish up my bobbin got caught up and messed up my design. So much for an 80 minute design.

The only thing that is hard now is that I can't put my embroidery and my Sapphire on the same table. They don't fit. I hate to keep one on the kitchen table as everyone uses the table. If I use the 350e I have to move the Sapphire. Both machines are heavy and my back doesn't appreciate it. I'll figure something..like turning my garage into a sewing room..LOL. "Sweetheart...Can we renovate the garage for a sewing room? Please?"

I am loving my Sapphire. This is the best machine ever. The precision is amazing and the features are to die for. I'm working on the machine applique for my "Floral Meditation" quilt now and it looks great. I need to get a stash of bobbins now. The 5 that came with it just isn't enough. Hopefully sometime this week I can get some.

I tried to do a PDF version of my Mariner's Compass pattern. The pieces are so big you'd have to tape the pages together. I did the center with part paper piecing and part templates. The border was easy to split up so you didn't have to tape pieces together.

What I don't know how to do is put all the designs together into one PDF file. You'd also have to know how to put a compass pattern together as I couldn't write the directions good enough. You'd really have to be comfortable with inset seams. It was trial and error for me. There are nearly 500 pieces of fabric in this design. That pattern will have to wait.
