Blogger has been giving me fits all morning by not putting up the menu bar above the typing space. Grrr.
I'm going to have to start all over on "Mimi's Bloomers". Good thing I only have 3 blocks that I thought were done.
The problem is with PDF files and printer sizes. If I save her PDF to the desktop it prints out a different size than if I print it out from her site.
Here's the difference:
I did mine with the larger size as the outside lines measure 9 inches perfectly. The smaller block comes out around 8.5 inches. The directions say it's a 9 inch finished blocks so I figured that was the correct size.
However to my dismay, if you use the 9 inch block template it doesn't work perfectly. The ten inch line on the left side and bottom of the block give you a better idea.
You will end up cutting out some of the petals or they are too close to the 9 inch finished line. The 9 inch block works great with an 11 inch block though.
Tomorrow I plan on ordering her center panel and see how everything compares before going on. I still need to finish up "My Tweets" one of these years as well. I messed up the center panel and had to restart. I still have 4 blocks of that quilt to finish as well.
My Gallant Long arm is named Mr. PITA Bread. PITA as for Pain In the Ass. The goat is an inside joke with the AI which will never make sense. AI helps make things worse or better depending on what it thinks you want.

Sizing Blocks..Grrr.
Thanks to Target and the Champion company I have some walking/running clothes. It was nice to go around the track, up/down the stairs and gasp, even do a small amount of running.
I think I sized my blocks wrong when I printed out the patterns. They are to finish at 9 inch blocks, but mine are larger. I thought I had the settings right for printing. Grrr. I hate when this happens. I cut the fabric squares to 11 inches so I could cut down, but the designs are right next to the edge. I'm also out of black ink so I can't resize the patterns. I'd keep them this way, but I'd have to fudge the center panel somehow. I wish ink wasn't so expensive. I've spent so much time on these as well. Maybe I don't need the center panel..LOL. I've only finished two blocks, so maybe starting over would be okay. My first block is sorta messed up anyway. It's just a pain to fold under the edges.

Mimi's Bloomers: Block One
Started working on block one a couple of days ago. I was thinking of doing the appliqué by hand but realized I didn't want to deal with it. So I came up with this:
I did an edge stitch around each of the pieces but I'm struggling with the points so they meet right. Any ideas? I also wish I was better at making all the purple points meet right.
