Here's a picture of my bargello quilt. I'm almost done with the quilting but still need to do the borders. This has been a fun quilt to design. I used metallic, rayon and cotton thread to free motion quilt it. It's turned really nice and the quilting gives it texture and motion.
Here's a more detailed look at the quilting:

Good job!! And I LOVE the name!!! You did such a nice job.
I like the way the quilting has come out. That's a stunning quilt
love and hugs xxx
I love the colors, the design and the quilting. I am currently taking a Quilt U class on Bargello quilts and I hope one of mine looks this good in the future!
Very nice!
great job of course all your work is beautiful
Beautifully done! I love the quilting you have done on it. I made a bargello recently, though not nearly as nice as yours. I have been wondering what to do with the border, but after seeing yours with the 2 simple borders I think I like that best -- it doesn't take away from all the colors in the bargello design.
This just rocks! I have to do one now!
I was wondering what measurements you used? for the strips i mean...like what the widest one is and the narrowest and the ones in between...i'm to that step and i can't find a site that tells me
Anonymous,
The smallest strip cut is probably about 3/4 inch wide up to 3 inches I think.
You can use any width size you want. The smaller the widths of the strip, the more dramatic of a "peak" you will get.
Layout your strip sets and make a design moving your strips vertically. Once you get the peaks and valleys where you'd like, then cut the widths.
I started with the peaks and worked out from there. Just play with the widths. It took me a day to get what I wanted.
Its a very beautiful quilt. I'm just wondering about how big the quilt is, and the appoximate number of yards of fabric u used on it.
Hi nicole. It's lapsized. Much bigger than I thought it would be. I think I used a half a yard of each fabric. They were 2.5 inch strips that were sewn together and then cut up at different sizes.
