I've decided to sell my Accuquilt Cutter and dies.  I don't use them.  I'm not impressed and think they are overhyped and overpriced however; I know lots of people adore theirs.

My biggest problem is shipping.  I have the original box for the cutter but I have no clue how to ship the 1.5 and 2.5 inch strip dies.  They are long and skinny for those who haven't seen them and don't fit in regular USPS boxes.  I don't have access to a fancy box shop either unless I went to Lincoln.  Would they have something to fit the dies?

I'd like to sell it all together making it easy since I only have the two strip dies, the Rose of Sharon, and the 2 inch square die...oh and the ones that came with the cutter.

I just hate having mine knowing someone would love it more.  I'm not even sure how much to ask for the entire set or if I should put it up on Ebetray w/o knowing how to ship the larger dies.  If someone lived locally within Lincoln, Omaha or surrounding areas we could meet up somewhere.

Any thoughts?

It would help if you would provide measurments for the long, skinny dies. The post office does have a new size flat-rate box, called the "board game" box. It is 24 inches long and maybe 12 inches wide? If your PO doesn't have them, you can order them for free on the USPS website.

I wonder if you should not rethink your decision. I forecast a whole revolution in quilting caused by the use of the go cutter- specially in combination with digitised embroidery- but if you are not interested in that it might be the right decision for you.

I am interested in buying it, i don't live nearby. What are you asking for it? maybe you could wrap the larger dies in cardboard, and mail them individually? cindy_bartz03@hotmail.com

I am so sorry that you do not like your Go cutter. I truly love mine and I am sure you know that from my blog. I guess we all have different interestand likes, that is what makes the world go around. Is there something specific you do not like about it?

You may want to consider advertising in Craigslist or creating a flyer that you can give out at local quilt guilds and/or quilt shops. I've also heard people having good luck via eBay.

Still, I think you may be disatisfied as you don't have dies that you are in love with. I actually do most of my strip cutting with strip rulers. Personal preference as some love the strip dies. But I do value the strip dies for cutting scraps that I would have previously tossed. I'll be doing a blog post soon on quilts I've made with scraps that would have totally been tossed.

I have quite a few dies, but there are a few that definitely "sold me" on the value of AccuQuilt.

You may want to consider cutting scraps with your value die and sorting in dark-med-light and store in a bag. When you get enough to make a block(s) stitch it out. You'll soon have a quilt all made from scraps that would have been previously tossed and from many that were so small you probably wouldn't have wanted to pull out traditional cutting tools to cut them.

I'd be interested in it, depending on how much you were charging.

Our post offices sell tubes you could use to mail the long dies inside of (wrapped in plastic or kraft paper).

I would love to have it but buying anything is not in my budget anymore.

How about wrapping them with foam boards? I find these at the dollar stores next to the mat boards kids use for school projects.
