Questions On The Bendable LED Light

I was at my LQS getting some more purple fat quarters for my quilt today when saw that she had a package of one of those bendable lights that you put on your machine. I picked it up and asked if she had tried it and she said she had one on her machine. Most of you know I'm a skeptic and 50 bucks is a HUGE price tag for such a little light.

She took me over, turned on the machine and light and showed me out it worked. Okay, it's truly bendable and you just put it on the machine. You just plug it in and it works. The light is bright. OH yeah..that light is so bright it's blinding. I lost vision for a few seconds as my eyes adjusted to it.

Now it's down to two things. The light and the price. Is the light so bright it's going to drive me nuts, leave shadows all over making it even harder to do work despite my adjusting it? And I still think 50 bucks is way too much. It's not like I can open it up, try it out, go ehhh..and bring it back for a refund.

If you have one could you answer me these? Is it that blinding when you use it? Does it leave shadows? Are you constantly adjusting it? Is it worth 50 bucks? Oh..wait. Will it the adhesive ruin your machine?

Allbrands does sell it for 30 bucks and even with shipping it's cheaper.

Hi Bethany, I have 2 for both my machines....they are great & I've had no trouble with shadows. I bought mine for $30each & it was well worth it. As for ruining my machince with the adhesive....alcohol on a swab takes the adhesive off of nearly anything.....hope that helps!!!

I have one along with the extra holder for my second machine. The light is very bright and I have found that I can't have it "directed" right at the needle, but just a little off, but it works well without leaving shadows. I bought two for my quilty friends for christmas and got one at 50% off and the other one at 40% off at two different quilt shops who were having sales. $50 is steep, but it sure helps for sewing at night. I love it and think it was well worth it. You an always wait for a sale,.

I have one and convinced all my friends to buy one too. They all love theirs but I have problems getting it aimed properly so that it doesn't reflect off things and blind me. I spend a lot of time adjusting it and when I get it set up perfectly, I bang into it and adjust again. The only time i really love it is for piecing black fabric.

I had one for my three machines and used the extra kit that allows you to move it from machine to machine. Then I misplaced it (it is hiding in my messy sewing room). I love this light so much I bought another one, so I now have two...one is just in hiding.

The lite is bright but the ability to bend it and angle it really make a difference for how you can see better, and provides flexibility at different times of the day. I've found that I'm much more willing to quilt/sew later at night...and it really helps in classrooms/retreats as the lighting typically isn't very good.

Very reliable product too. I've only known one person to ever have a problem and the company quickly sent them a replacement.

Sounds like alot of $$$, but in the long run your eyes will really appreciate the investment and so will you!

Buy yourself a wonderful Christmas present!
